Importance of recovery after exercise
By Thomas Cain of iPwrshop Sports Nutrition We all know that exercise is very important for our overall health and well being.
However the most important part is the time after your workout has concluded.
Simply put you must put back into you body what you workout took out and then some.
The first hour after your workout is the most critical as your body is now "thirsty" as you will for the vital nutrients that were depleted from your workout. In addition if Resistance training was a part of that workout you have muscle tissue that needs to be repaired.
If time doesn't allow for a balanced meal due to a busy work schedule.
Here is a simple solution and why:
1. A complete Protein Shake with complete Balanced Protein Blend (Meaning a protein content from several sources such as Whey, Casein, Milk or EGG combined) carbohydrates and Vitamin/Minerals ( BSN Truemass or BSN Syntha 6 )
Why a Protein Blend? Because your body will assimilate more of the protein if it is coming from several different type of sources versus Just one source such as Whey Protein.
If you are are Heavy into weight training you may want to incorporating 5 Grams of Creatine in the shake in order to replace the creatine lost and bring up your ATP levels that you workout depleted with you body.
Last but not least in this segment is the importance of Sleep and rest.
Rest is the component whereby your body re-energizes itself from workouts, daily stresses etc.
Now if you have trouble sleeping at night then our next article will address on how to deal with this issue.
